Procedures
- Gather all the needed materials
- Count and place 100 alfalfa seeds into each of the 4 red solo cups (400 alfalfa seeds total)
- Label the four red solo cups with: water, 5 ml, 10 ml, and 15 ml
- Fill the red solo cups with 30 ml of water
- Add 5 ml of sugar in the the correct labeled red solo cup and stir until it dissolves
- Repeat step 5 with the 10 ml and 15 ml red solo cups
- Cover the top of each of the red solo cups with a plastic wrap
- Poke a hole with your finger in the the middle of each of the plastic wrap
- Place all five red solo cups near a window with direct sunlight
- Every other day, drain out the liquids in the red solo cup down the sink and replace it with the same liquid for 4 days
- Record the number of seeds that germinated out of 100 for each of the four cups
- Write your conclusion
